Distant Education and Direct Entry Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship is a system of training a new generation of practitioners of a trade or profession with on-the-job training and often some accompanying study (classroom work, reading & testing). Apprenticeship also enables practitioners to gain a license to practice in a regulated profession.
Distant Learning
is a method of studying in which lectures are broadcast or
classes are conducted by correspondence or over the Internet,
without the student's needing to attend a school or college.
Also called distance education.
Direct Entry Distant Learning Apprenticeship- is a form of
education that involves theoretical studies, extensive research
and discipline while getting hands on practical and/or clinical
experience and guidance from a selected licensed /ordained/
experienced Preceptor, Mentor/proctor. Depending on the area of
studies, the preceptor must possess the required credentials to
give apprenticeship training as per the CHY policies. The
Talmid(student) will receive a scheduled syllabus of required
studies and exams to be passed in order to advance in those
studies. The Preceptor is responsible for passing or failing the
Talmid as it relates to comprehension and mastering the
technical/practical skills required for student to sit for the
final examinations given by the Cushite Hebrew Yeshiva. In
addition to distant education studies as per the syllabus and
curriculum and the hands on apprenticeship, Talmid may be
required to attend Seminars, conferences, meet up groups or
enrolll into & take specific courss provided by affiliate
academic institutions to further advance their studies in the
particular area of focus.
The Programs at the Cushite Hebrew Yeshiva allows students to
earn an Certificate, Technical Diploma, Associate, Bachelors,
Masters or Doctorate Degree Certification, from Direct Entry
Distant learning apprenticeship and readies them to sit for
private or national licensing/certification. Traditionally
Holistic health students and Rabbinical talmidim learned at the
side of an experienced Rabbi, Priest, Master Teacher of the
School of prophets, midwife, Guru, Shaman etc, in an
apprenticeship.
Our goal with the programs is to
support this apprenticeship model of education, and be flexible
enough to suit most educational settings:
-
*Allowing for flexibility in the myriad of settings in which
an apprenticeship takes place and for the individual needs
of each student and preceptor.
-
*Recognizing the specialized and distinct experience each
preceptor brings to the education.
-
*Supplying quality, standardized comprehensive academic and
clinical curriculum to ensure the education/dedication of a
competent, confident and effective
Leader and/or holistic healthcare provider.
This model of flexible education will produce a more focused,
knowledgeable and effective leader and/or Health Care provider
as opposed to schools that offer study at home “only” with no
practical/clinical training or traditional education that
requires 4-6 years education in a classroom setting with maybe 1
½ years of practical/clinical training. Our Education is 4-5
years(or 2-3 years for Associates/Diploma) of non-traditional
distant education study accompanied with direct hands on
clinicals/apprenticeship from day 1 and for the life of the
program..
Practicing holistic medicine versus providing Healing
experts
At Cushite Hebrew Yeshiva, we believe in producing experts and
master teachers & leaders, not practitioners. We practice and
experiment with theoretical holistic healthcare and Jewish
leadership while in schoold during education sessions, not in
our careers or on people. We heal and do works of restoration
when we are certified and working with the public, whereas other
schools teach their doctors and leaders to practice after
graduation, thus making them practitioners, not healing
medical/leadership experts.
Our Yeshiva follows a non-traditional, old school model of educational empowerment. Because we are a technical degree modeled institution, our program model is centered on distant learning apprenticeship. Thiis is not the same as correspondence or just online education, but moreso a hybrid & cross between traditional college education & an apprenticeship education under a individual preceptor(s). Using the Model of the North American Registry of Midwives, students will participate in hands on practical, clinical & or work place skills development under a qualified preceptor who is responsible for training, supervising, documenting & ensuring student masters the required skills in the area of learning, while the student is tested, given research, home-work & other assignments as well as quizzes and tests directly via the Yeshiva during the life of the program. Our model ensures students have two to three times as much practical experience as those students who attend traditional brick and morter classroom colleges(i.e. Naturopathic Medicine training usually has a 1 1/2yr post graduate residency clinical skills training after 4yr classroom and theoretical studies, while our students would get 3years of combined practical & clinical training, due to beginning such skills development under apprenticeship at the beginning of enrollment and throughout the life of the program).
We understand that Technical Degree programs have more value & effectiveness in quality education than traditional academic education. A two year Technical Degree/Diploma program is more advanced than a 4year academic bachelors degree program. The reason is that technical education focuses specifically on educating students in the field of their study, while 4yr academic programs provides half of the studies in the field of interest, while the other half is general theoretical education, which amounts to repeated educational courses students have already taken in middle school and high school & in many cases are unrelated to the actual field of study a student is seeking to achievel Thus from a technical degree standpoint, a 4yr academic degree program provides nothing more than an associates degree (2yrs) level of education in a field of study. Students waste time & money during the 1st 2yrs of traditional college, rather than simply taking inexpensive CLEPP challenges to obtain full course credit(which are accepted by virtually all colleges & universities in America) & eliminating the need to take general education courses in college. 4yrs of academic education is equivelant to 2 Years of technical degree education. A 4year technical degree program is equivelant to an academic masters degree program, and a techical Masters degree is equivelant to a academic doctorate degree as it relates to actual skills development & training. Academic degrees are theoritical focused, while technical degrees are skills focused.
A Spiritual comparison between academic & technical education.
Academic vs Technical education can be compared using spiritual terms. Faith (Hebrew Emoon) vs Faithful (Hebrew Emoonah). Faith in and of itself is a state of mental belief. It is a thought process, thus its theoretical in nature(just like a hypothesis). However, Faithful is practical & has substance. It is moving beyond the realm of a mental theoretical state of being, to manifesting a practical move based on knowledge that is aquired via the heart/mind. That is why it says "The Just" will live by his faithfulness(a verb; Habakkuk 2:4)) and we learn that faith(theoretical) in and of itself without works(practical) is dead(Ya'akob 2:20, 24, 26), and that one is only declared right when they have works(practical/technical) accommpany belief(theoretical-academic). In fact historically speaking, the concept behind evidence & science based education, was spoken of in the bible. The book of Hebrews, obtaining its knowledge from the Essene Jewish Dead Sea Scrolls, gives the actual definition of practical faith & gives the model to provding facts to confirm theory (beliefs). It says, "Now faith is: the "Substance of things you hope for" & the "evidence of things not originally seen". This is the foundation of true religion rooted in lifestyle habit, as well as science & effective discipleship(education and learning). It is even the provisional definition of the true meaning of the Hebrew word "Qodesh/Qadash", which speaks of the concept of being holy by being holistic, which is a lifestyle that is manifested based on a full understanding of what constitutes being "constructive in nature" vs being "destructive in nature" in every aspect of ones life, as opposed to the losely defined concept of being Holy, which is void of connecting behavioral patterns, such as dietary habits & physical health states of ones being, with purity & sacredness(Thus a person whose has self caused disease such as obesity, cardiovascular disease etc, will still mentally believe they can be Holy & filled with the Ruwah HaQodesh, while having a polluted Temple) . Thus the model of practical/technical modules in virtually every area of knowledge, wisdom & learning, is greater than theoretical alone.
This is why technical based education prepares students for the real world more effectively than academic theoretical education. Correspondence/distant learning alone, especially in areas of study such as Naturopathic/Homeopathic/Oriental medicine, Midwifery or Rabbinical/Pastoral Care/Management or even farming, fencing or other trade programs, will not prepare any student to effectively and safely work within those fields, no more than 4 year classroom academic education that provides only 2 years of actual education with a small post graduate practicum in your field of study, will prepare a student effectively. Yet combing both models into a hybrid distant learning, research & apprenticeship based program is the most effective form of education to ensure talmidim are optimally prepared to work in their field of study.
In the Hebrew Leadership concept of training and development, we
do not seek to produce "Leaders of Religion", as being Jewish
Israelite is a Ethnic culture that has ancient roots as a nation
of people. Therefore we seek to produce Socio-Spiritual
Political Leaders as mandated by the Torah of Moshe to address
the political(governments), spiritual, social, economical,
family, health and international issues of the Hebrew peoples.
The Direct Entry Model is the perfect model for all types of training skills, including Technical training(farming, preparing the dead, carpentry, electricians, computer techs etc). In this we envision that our Yeshiva will become the Light and Model for other Yeshivas and Indigenous training programs to adopt and pattern themselves after

If you needed major heart surgery.
Would you allow a Surgeon who was a C average in Medical school
to operate on you, if it was required that all Surgeons post
their Medical GPA in their medical offices for patients to see?
What if the Doctor barely passed with a C- or a D+? Would you
trust that Physician wtih your health? Hopefully not!!k And we
are sure this would apply to teachers, business and finance and
socio-spiritual political leaders. We should only want to have
the best help us and guide us in life. Those who worked hard to
make A's and B's average in their academic preperation and
skills development.
And that is what the CHYOIU is
all about. Because CHY-OIU is about producing strong,
intelligent & empowered Leaders around the world, we have chosen
a different model of ensuring our graduating students, upon whom
we stamp our name & credentials, are the best of the best in
Leadership & academic success. Our Yeshiva operates on a "A, B,
F" grade scale. This is a strict code of academic grading of
students. Students are required to show strong academic
achievement in order to graduate. A "C" grade is indication of
"average" in traditional academic grading. We firmly believe
that we are the Chosen of Elah Adonai, a royal priesthood &
example that the entire world should look towards for
upbuilding, guidance & redemptive truth, thus there is nothing
average about being a Torah abiding Jew or gentile in Judaism &
Hebrew culture, especially when it comes to leadership
development & being equipped to impact peoples livs within
Judaism & around the world. The Cushite Hebrew Yeshiva considers
a "C" as a failing grade not fit for Jewish Leadership. Yes we
may have average people, but under no circumstances should the
people be led by average leaders.
The Essene Jewish Law
makes clear that "No dull-wited person" is to be appointed to
any position of leadership". Thus all students considering
enrolling with our Yeshiva must seriously understand that a "C"
is an "F" & is unacceptable. Students who fall below a 3.0 GPA,
will have a chance to retake or improve their GPA within 1 year.
Should the student fail to achieve at least a 3.0, their
enrollment will be terminated. We allow re-enrollment after a
year of termination, should a student wish to re-enroll.
Leadership & Rabbinical Programs:
Leadership training to develop the knoweldge and skills to
fulfill an ofice of either a Cohen, Rabbi, Shaphat, Moreh,
Jewish Pastor, Maggid or become recognized as a Jewish Nabi or
Prophetic Minister, is by invitation & Council approval only &
has more strict requirements than other educational programs. A
potential talmid must either be a member of the Ha' Yisrayli
Torah Brith Yahad or have been an active member of a Synagogue
via either an Ashkeanzi, Sephardi or Mizrahi-Ethiopian Jewish
Community for at least three years, and have financially
contributed to such Congregations/Communities. We do not
recognize memberships in the Black Hebrew Israelite, White
Hebrew Israelites, Hebrew-Christian, Apostolic and other
Christian sectarian groups that are not in conformity with one
of the 3 cultures of Judaism mentioned. Messianics are
welcomed to apply on a limited bases, but only if they are
Messianic Jews, not Messianic Hebrew Israelites.
In
addition to grading the Talmidim's work and academic progress,
the students level of character, integrity, health & personal
spiritual growth and development will have a major impact on the
students overall GPA. Graduating from the CHY-OIU with a Degree
in any Spiritual Leadership discipline does not automatically
confer Religious "S'mikkha Ordination" or "Ministerial
Licensing". It is at the sole discretion of the
Mizrahi-Ethiopian Jewish Int'l Rabbinical Council to award an
Ordination or Ministerial license or not. Incorporating the
science of the Ruwah HaQodesh will play a major role in whether
a Talmid is commisssioned, licensed or ordained to be
Socio-Spiritual Political/Religious Leaders. Following Edenic
dietary kosher laws(meaning being a vegetarian) will also be a
factor in whether one can be ordained/licensed in the end.
All candidates for Leadership training must have a
recognized Jewish Spiritual Leader, as their mentor and
preceptor. It is up to the Talmid to secure a leader that is
willing to sign on to mentor them throughout the duration of the
training program. The Spiritual Leader(Rabbi, Cohen etc) will
play a major role in deciding whether a student graduates with
their respective degree as well as whether they should be
ordained or not. If a student is given a failing review by their
Preceptor, or does not achieve a level of spiritual and cultural
growth during the program enrollment, but does pass the academic
courses(A or B average), they will recieve a "Graduate or Post
Graduate Certificate", as opposed to a Bachelors or Masters
Degree.
S'mikhahs, Licensing and Ordinations are under
the Jurisdiction & authority of the Mizrahi-Ethiopian Jewish
Int'l Rabbinical Council, and are revokable. Licensing are
reviewed & renewed annually by the Council to ensure compliance,
Integrity & Character according to the values of
Mizrahi-Judaism, of the Spiritual Leader. S'mekhahs/Ordinations
are reviewed Bi-annually. Only Leaders with
S'mekhahs/Ordinations can nominate someone to become ordained or
licensed as a Spiritual Leader. The council gives the final
approval or disapproval of such candidates.
